Future Development at the KED: Growing Greater

“Together, we have the passion to help grow and better the City of Greater Sudbury for our future generations” - Dario Zulich

From the very beginning, the plan for the Kingsway Entertainment District has been to create something that can grow and foster within the community of Sudbury. In order to achieve that, future development has been considered every step of the way throughout the creative process.

As we have mentioned before, we have plenty of land and room to grow, which is exactly what we plan on doing.

In future years, the KED has the opportunity to develop additional ice pads in the future, going beyond its single OHL ice pad and allowing for even more community utilization.

Our thorough design guidelines (some of which have been mentioned in previous blogs) will ensure that future development is consistent with the objectives and visual aesthetic of the KED. All of the KED will have a uniform and consistent design.

Planned extensions for primary and secondary roads within the KED have also been taken into account throughout the development process, making these expansions easy to achieve, without interfering with pre-existing structures, districts or outdoor trails on the site.

The Kingsway Entertainment District will be a space where we enjoy ourselves and our northern lifestyle - a place our growing community can gather and celebrate. It will be an innovative experience and a choice destination for Northern Ontario that will proudly host visitors to the beautiful city we call home, with plenty of room to grow and expand.
